Swimmers bring home the medals


Head Coach Brian McGuinness took eight WF swimmers from Gold Squad to the Wales National Pool, Swansea for the Swansea Aquatics Spring Long Course Open Meet over the weekend of 24/25th February.


All eight swimmers won medals in their age groups as follows:-

Jasmin Yates won an amazing 7 Golds from the 7 events she entered in her age group – 800m free, 100m fly, 200m fly, 50m back, 100m back, 200m back & 400m IM;

Alexandra Hayes – Silver 100m fly, Bronze 50m fly;

Lucy Nicholls – Silver 50m back, 100m back, Bronze 400m free;

Nathaniel Crowther - Gold 200m back, Silver 50m back, 100m back, Bronze 100m fly, 200m IM, 400m IM;

Robert Darbyshire - Gold 50m free, Bronze 50m fly, 400m free;

Will Guest – Gold 1500m free, Silver 400m free, Bronze 200m free;

Amber Wright – Gold 200m back, Silver 200m fly;

Bradley Baddams – Silver 50m breast, Bronze 100m breast


Brian McGuiness stated, ‘This was a talented group of swimmers and were selected to make the most of the experience.  Every single one showed improvement in times, especially from the same point in the season last year, were tactically adroit and won silverware.  In all they were a credit to Wyre Forest.’  Brian also thanked Becki Rowley for doing such a great job as Team Manager over the weekend.
