Our Learn to Swim Stages

When children first begin their learn to swim journey they will enter one of our lower stages. There are lots of fun activities and games in these lessons, all designed to develop water confidence and motor skills. The speed at which children progress through these stages is largely dependent on age and previous swimming experience.

After completing the lower stages children will move into our intermediate stages. These lessons take place in the deep end of the pool. They will begin learning the correct technique in all 4 strokes and learning new water skills such as treading water and diving.

Finally, children will move into our higher stages. In these classes children will be swimming lengths as they work on improving their technique in all strokes and skills as well as swimming longer distances.

On completion of all stages, children will be able to;

    -Swim all 4 strokes to the Swim England standard over 25m

    -Swim 50m in one stroke

    -Swim 100m using 3 different strokes

    -Be competent in a variety of water skills

At this point if they wish, they will then be able to successfully begin and continue to seamlessly progress their swim journey within our own Learn to Compete squads.
